Jen's Journeys
First, here's what you need to know. The difference between baloney and blarney (and I steal this, by the way): Baloney - telling a 50-year-old woman she looks 18. Blarney- asking a woman how old she is because you want to know "at what age women are most beautiful". That's right we visited blarney castle today! And yes, we kissed the Blarney Stone!! But before we got there, we stopped into the town of Kinsale, which is kind of where we stayed last night. Adorable little seaside town. Actually, just up the tidal river from the sea. But it was a cute place to walk around, and we found a grocery store on the way out to grab some provisions for lunch. Back to blarney. The line was long, which made the climb up the ridiculously narrow stone spiral staircase easier, I think. And yes, there is a man right there to make sure you don't fall down. You will see pictures below. We did figure out where all the Americans we weren't seeing the couple of days are - blarney. But, honestly, for as hyped up as it is and the place that clearly the tourists flock to? It was really great. Beautiful grounds (we had another bread, cheese and fruit picnic), a castle that has really been left as is, no 1980's restoration or anything, and a doorway that made me feel tall. Then, our TomTom took us on quite the adventure through some country roads. I don't want to brag, but I'm actually getting pretty good at this. No accidents yet, and we haven't gotten lost once. The worst was when I was pretty sure for a couple of minutes that I would not be able to turn into the tiny driveway of our B&B today. But we just turned around at one round about and tried it again. And we did it! So, we checked into our place in Killarney, had a quick rest, and headed into town. Found some pizza and garlic bread for dinner, booked ourselves on a tour of the Ring of Dingle tomorrow (I'm taking a day off from driving - we are actually in the same place for two nights!), and then headed to Courtney's Bar. Open since the 1890's. And found ourselves the perfect spot to watch an AWESOME Irish music duo. So wonderful. And now we are home, and it's time to sleep! We hope you're all doing wonderfully this Monday!!!

BLT Hey, if you get back to Courtney's Bar, and it's available, buy a T'shirt for my neighbor.
