Samui...our warm up for FULL MOON, or so we thought. After arriving on to the Island in the blistering heat and bagging ourselves a cracking hotel complete with swimming pool (where we sunbathed all afternoon) for a total bargain price (Well Done Barrett) the weather definately took a turn for the worst. No sooner had we set foot outside the hotel when the heavens opened followed by a huge storm and a powercut. Finding our way back to the hotel was like the blind leading the blind but back safe and sound and looking like drowned rats we sat in the pitch black with a tiny candle for light. Early night then....
Next morning there wasn't a cloud in the sky. We had a lazy day by the pool followed by an evening of shopping and a night out at the huge outdoor food/bar area off the main street. It was suprising how many families were out and about and here holidaying on Koh Samui especially when all it is usually associated with is backpackers and Full Moon Parties. The area where we were was typical Thailand, cheap food, cheap drinks and a good atmosphere but with our boat booked for Koh Phangan in the morning it was back to hotel to pack..
Hmm Samui hadn't exactly gone to plan then but the FULL MOON countdown had well and truely begun!!
