Leaving Vietnam was apparantly not as easy as first though. Instead of enduing another hellish expensive bus journey we had oped to fly back to Bangkok and with the airport over an hour away we faced an early start. Already learning that pretty much the whole of S.E. Asia has its own concept of time we booked a taxi far earlier than needed....which was, suprise suprise LATE!! A late taxi taxi combined with early morning rush hour traffic = checking in for our flight with 5 mins to spare!! Not the best start.
By 12:30pm we had arrived back to the safety of Bangkok, meeting up with Sarah's Dad and Sister. In typical Thailand fashion our lazy afternoon by the pool was spoilt with heavy rain so we retreated inside for manicures, pedicures, facials and massages before an evening of street food and Chang, it's a hard life being a bakpacker!!
Next day we explore the hustle and bustle of Bangkok further before deciding to catch an overnight train to Krabi. The train is very hot, crowded and while a novelty to us, a part of evey day life to the locals. It really is fascinating to experince. We take to our beds early, fasten our seatbelts and prepare for a bumpy restless night. I only hope and prey that I don't fall off the top bunk....
