Wednesday - We left 'Wellington' today. I drove and it took the long 5h car journey to 'Napier ' to recover from last nights major drinking session, Neeley and Fiona both slept for the 2 and half hours before the lunch stop; so it was just me and the radio! We stopped at a nice cafe in 'Woodville', and had beautiful toasted sarnies, before heading back on the road to 'Napier'. The journey was very easy as the roads we very straight and between the green rolling hills. We got to 'Napier' at 6pm and after a trip to the supermarket checked into "Archies Bunker" in the town centre. It was $22 but really nice hostel. Just had a quiet and cheap night in. Thursday - We got up and checked out of "Archies Bunker" and drove up to "Bluff lookout" at the top of the town. It had great views over the town itself "Hawke Bay" and beyond. What a nice warm and sunny day it was too! Then we drove back to the centre of town and took in the "Art Deco" buildings before heading out of 'Napier' towards the 'Tongariro National Park'.
