Today, Sunday, we reached Melaka. It was easy enough to find our hostel, once we had found a taxi. Taxi's are really cheeky here, charging over the odds for a journey, so being the cunning girls we are we walk away only for the men to call after us ok ok!! We reached 'Tanah Rata' at lunchtime on Monday. The bus trip took 5hours. 'Tanah Rata' is right in the centre of the 'Cameron Highlands'. As it is in the Highlands is is quite cold here, you need a jumper for the evenings and a blanket at night. Due to these conditions this is why 'Tanah Rata' is famous for tea growing. Well after an 15h boat and bus combo journey we have now reached Malaysia. We spent the night on the boat from Ko Phan Nan to Surat Thani in Thailand, it was comfortable, one deck with a 100 matresses in a row.
