Arrived in Buderim about 60 miles north of Brisbane on 11 June and spending some time with our friend Barry and his family (for any old Air Canada people reading the blog it's Barry Rawlings and he's well and hasn't changed one bit).
Although we were sad to hand our motorhome back and it seemed strange as we felt like a couple of tortoises with no shell, it has been good to be in one place for a few days and not have to be on the move. Good home cooking makes a difference as well and Barry is not 'alf bad in the kitchen.
We have enjoyed the company of all the family as well as they are all settled in their own homes with their families and have entertained us admirably. Barry's daughter is a keen horse rider and we went to see her in a local gymkhana showing her horse and she won a third and only her second time out so she did well.
Ray has been out sea fishing with Scott (Barry's son-in-law) who has just become the proud owner of a new sea vessel. Ray caught a tuna and said the experience was better than sex - that says a lot for me. We also spent a day by the Maroochy River yesterday, Ray fished and I read, it was so relaxing and a lifestyle we could get quite accustomed to. We have been to this part of Australia before and have to say that it is probably our favourite spot.
We have had some really good laughs and will be sad to say goodbye to Barry but move on we must and Fiji awaits so keep reading.
