We have had a brilliant day on the Adelaide River which is a tidal river brimming with wildlife and yet really peaceful - we probably only saw three other boats all day. Hello from Darwin - population not listed so they must have lost count or they got lost in the cyclone. We are now in the "Top End" as they call it and Kakadu National Park. We did call in at Edith Falls on the way, which is in Katherine but will see more there on the way back down. Kakadu covers 20000 sq kms and a world heritage area. No population listed but flies 3 million hence the net face masks. Up at 4.30 to take a 6 am flight over this area. It was a small 6 seater propellor job and we had been adivsed to fly early so turbulence was less which it was. A brilliant flight over the vast farming area viewing the irrigation system and Lake Argyle, the Cardboard ranges and the massive million acre cattle stations.
