Right- blog number one from the jen/monty travel fest. We start our tale in Tokyo, Japan. Landed rediculously smoothly and Jen did not even draw blood on my arm! Got through immigration with minimal immo talk from the pez and then we went on our merry way (via a pig cold checkpoint). Our Ryokan in Asakusa was brill and very central. I(M) insisted on walking most places and mastering Japanese maps (which I did pretty brilliantly). Saw a demonstration in Tokyo and it reminded us of London with all the police in riot gear. Went to the imperial palace which is where princess jennifer decided she really should be staying. After looking at some crazy hi-tech bits and pieces in the sony building we went for a subway! ! ! thats what we thought too! anyway, good job we did cos we got chatting to an 86 year old japanese lady. she invited us back to hers for sushi so thats where we went. sushi was tasty but strong, dessert was soya based and not our cup of tea, and snacks almost tipped us over the edge! not a fan of these little soya sauce flavoured crispy things. but the little lady was awesome and we talked a lot into the night.

Next day we made our way to mount fuji for blog number 2 a la j-pez. it will be done as soon as we can figure out a way to successfully upload our pics.
