Hello there,

Right Kyoto.....

We were really looking forward to this city as we had heard only good things it being the ancient capital and all. We arrived to spitting rain which we thought we could handle seeing as we had climbed that god awful mountain the day before in the torrential rain! We got to our hostel which was not great and decided to go and wander to see if we could see a Geisha in action. No such luck. We did see lots of seedy bars and ladies wearing very little!!! Excellent choice of place we (Marky) thought! Oh, and we saw a crazy amount of crabs waiting to be munched (we stopped for a while and thought of you Emz). The following day we woke up to torrential rain so we donned our matching North Face jackets with a decrepit umbrella and went to explore. We saw some incredible sights most notably the Golden Temple. Upon arrival Marky stated that he preferred silver! We were flocked by about a thousand school children looking for a foreigner to talk to so we ended up signing a thousand pieces of work! All in all it was a great day.

Mental note - Go to Kyoto when it is sunny!

We left Kyoto early the following morning to head to Hiroshima.
