Well this ones gonna be short and sweet as there is officially nothing to do in Alabama!

Our first night here was spent in Birmingham...however our hotel was about ten miles out of Birmingham, the only thing near us being a petrol station...that night we thought we'd be crazy so had Dominos pizza and watched Sex in the City in the room...felt like we were at home!

The next morning we moved to Montgomery, the State's Capital...we managed to cover the monuments and sights in about 2 hours! We've now been here 2 days and have come across two restaurants that stay open past 2 in the afternoon (seriously) and one bar which emptied out at half 8!!(There's not even a starbucks..having serious Tea withdrawals). At the bar we did make friends with a lovely man called Wes who bought us Key Lime pie and we can honestly say that was the highlight of Alabama!

We have been trying to kill time today so went to Old Town Alabama which was ok but finished in about half an hour. We then went for a walk only to be stopped twice by caring people (they were seriously really sweet) who advised us to get a car and not walk as the man who had shot the police officer in the head last night was still at large! We felt like we were back in Bexleyheath!

Its seriously like a ghostown here, no one walks anywhere, there is nothing to do and theres no one around!! That would be why this website is now up to date and people have been emailed i.e. the Library is free and theres less chance of getting shot here!

Well tonight we have a lovely overnight Greyhound trip and tomorrow we arrive in New Orleans woo hoo! We cant wait for that and will keep you updated!
