We're a bit behind on these postcards but just thought we'd keep you up to speed!

New York rocked! The hostel was 'basic' to say the least so we spent as little time there as possible!

On our first day we must have walked the whole of Manhatten..we went Ground Zero, Statue of Liberty, China Town (Denise thought she'd died and gone to heaven!!), Little Italy and Soho! That night we saw Hairspray and it was sooo cool...The fact that the lead girl was fat made us feel much better about the copious amounts of brownies, cheesecakes and cookies we'd consumed! It was a wicked musical...except the jetlag caught up on Jen and she fell asleep halfway through...oops!!

The next day was dedicated to shopping and we were soooo restrained, seriously it actually hurt not to spend up in Macys and we just about managed to hold back from buying loads of I love NY Crap that we really did need! That night we stumbled across a bar in Greenwich village which rocked...it was a bit embarrassing at first as we wandered in wearing our flowery Cags therefore standing out a little from the rockers and Hells Angels around us! Turns out it was a world famous bar where loads of acts perform in the hope of getting signed up...there's pics of Etta James, Stevie Wonder, Bob Dylan and Billy Idol to name but a few started, it rocked and we got bought loads of drinks, even better!! As a result of which we were slightly intoxicated and managed to both fall asleep on the Subway waking up in Harlem! nice...don't worry mum we made it back in one piece!

The next day we had our wonderful first experience of The Greyhound...its like chav Central...I wouldn't recommend...We arrived in Washington that afternoon.....
