Drove on to Albany today, about 4 hours drive. Great down, very helpful and friendly people at YHA who showed us heaps of things to see, so we decided to stay two nights. First day we just went for a bit of a drive to some lookouts and to a boutique brewery/bar for a drink before cooking tea. Really flash rooms for a YHA, looked like a really nice hotel, fridge and plasma (unusual in a hostel), nice furnishings.
In the morning we drove around to the wind farm as you can walk right up under the windmills, which are usually blocked off. Next stop we drove around to the natural rock bridge, the gap and the best stop of the day - the blowhole.
A 1km walk down a big hill to the beach down to the blow hole, which as first didnt look impressive at all. We crept right up to the crack in the rock and only heard a faint hiss and we were thinking "this sucks why did we walk all the way down here?!"
Then some bigger swell came up and while we were leaning over a huge "WHOOOOOSSSSH" came up through the rock and nearly blew us of our feet! It was just amazing, we got the guts to stand over the crack and it blew our shirts well over our heads, it was really so scary, doesnt sound that great but trust us the anticipation of the next wave coming to basically blow you away was intense! I will try put the video of Luke up on the video section of the page.
After lunch we drove around to a secret locals spot - Little Beach. It was absolutely beautiful, the most perfect place we have seen. We are amazed at the beaches over here, we thought the sunny coast was good but WA is just amazing. Because the sand it so much whiter the water shows up so green. We think we are going to love it here.
