Headed off from Peter and Dawns at 9am, well feed and rested.
Our first stop after Hawkes Nest was at Palm Beach, an hour north of Sydney otherwise known as "Summer Bay" from Home and Away! It was a really nice drive, lots of nice scenery to look at, heaps different from our usual drive to Brisbane which is straight as and boring as anything.
Unfortuanately we didnt spot any of the stars of H&A, but we had a walk on the beach and had fun spotting different scenes from the show.
The car had been giving us a bit of stress on the way down, it was kind of spluttering when putting the foot down going up a hill or to pass, so after checking into the Bondi YHA we took in into the garage. Turns out we had driven all the way from the Sunny Coast to Sudney with a coil pack which had pooped itself. Was a huge relief to finally have it sorted!
We had a wonderful time in Bondi, the hostel was in a great location, we had our own room and we had a great view from our window. It had a rooftop deck which had views over Tamarama Beach and Bronte, really lovely.
In the arvo we strolled around Bondi which was a quick walk from the hostel, and went for a sunbathe and swim. Lots of bluebottles around which was strange coz they normally dont come this far down until its really hot early in the year.
We caught a bus down to Circular Quay looking for some sort of cruise/boat ride.
The dinner crusies etc were about $90, so we just ended up catching a ferry along a few of the harbours, sunset when we left and an hour later when we came back it was dark and all the lights were on, just amazing. We both agreed that it was the best $10 we have ever spent!
Next morning went for a huge run/walk along the Bondi-Coogee coastal walk, it was so nice the best walk I have done. Didnt get the whole way done so will have to go back one day. Luke went to Bondi for a look around then we met up for some brekkie on the esplanade. We went back to pack up but we didnt want to leave! Had such a good time but had to go to keep on track for meeting our mates in Adelaide in a couple of weeks.
