Don`t cry for me Argentina.......we left the lovely Hostel Natura and jumped on a flight to the land of the steak, tango and, it appears, swine flu- Buenos Aires is the worst affected in South America and a lot of people are wearing masks. We are staying in the San Telmo district which is the home of tango and steet fairs but must admit we are yet to be completely won over- maybe it`s because we have come from bustling happy Brazil but people here seem quite unfriendly and the city doesn´t seem as beautiful as everyone says when it´s compared to Rio.....

I`m sure it will just take us a couple of days to find our feet and we´ll be off and away again but leaving the place we loved combined with both of us feeling ill (hopefully not swine flu) has left us a little deflated....I think it´s time to mobilise and go out!

At least the streets have a lovely aroma of BBQ everywhere so we will follow that to get some lunch... My friend is arriving on Tuesday to stay with a local and I expect he will be able to help us get under the skin of the city!
