Around the World Forever
So here I am, way up north on the island of Luzon in the city of Vigan, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Vigan's claim to fame is that it's still here. It's one of the few remaining historic, Hispanic cities in the Philippines that didn't get bombed by the Japanese in World War II. It's pleasant enough to have a look around, but after traveling through Latin America, the possibility of getting excited over old cathedrals and cobblestoned streets is about zero, unfortunately. Oddly, there are a lot of French tourists here and they seem to really like it. i don't dislike Vigan, but there's really no reason to stay for too long.
I heard there is some good beginner wave surfing and a cool vibe a couple hours south of here in a town called San Juan la Union. So that's where I'm going next.
