Around the World Forever
Well folks, this chapter of my great Walkabout is coming to a close. But it's merely halftime...at least that's the way I see it. Who knew that what I thought would be an 18 to 24 month Walkabout around the planet would turn into a three year adventure only in Latin America? Well I had no idea it would work out like this. Today is my 3 year anniversary of traveling! Quite simply, it's been amazing. My great friends from The Point Hostel here in Lima helped me celebrate... both my 3 year anniversary and a going away party. That's right....going away. Tomorrow morning I will be on a plane bound for Miami, Florida. Mom and Dad are on vacation there and can pick me up at the airport. It's going to be great to see everyone again and to laugh at how maladjusted I am to life in the States.
I am getting a lot of questions... "What are ya gonna do now?" seems to be the most popular. The answer: I have no idea. Actually.. I have tons of ideas... just nothing is certain. And it's the uncertainty that I like best. The other popular question was "How did you do it?" I can tell you this secret... every day at mid-night, I had 1,440 deposited into my account. However, there was one important rule that could never be broken. That rule stated that whatever I did not use or spend wisely that day, I had to return and give up forever. I could not save them for another time. I am not talking about dollars, pesos, or some other exotic currency. That was simply how many minutes I received to use each 24 hour period. I tried to spend them the best way I could.
For now, I will leave this blog open as I will probably add a little more to it... who knows. I hope those that read it found it interesting at the very least and perhaps even inspirational. Hopefully future travelers will find it somewhat helpful in their research. Well that's all for now, but remember, It's just HALFTIME.....

Steve Sandy Congratulations! And welcome back! Hey, it looks like you had a great three years. I am sure your next adventure is not far away. I have to admit there were many times I was envious of you when life here was getting hectic. If you have time I would love to meet up with you and have a beer. I am still in West Virginia. I will be going to be in Erie from April 5th to 7th. When you get settled let me know where you are. Later, Steve
