Introducing EVA MARIA, a 50 foot Bavaria Sailing Yacht, my home for the next 10 days, and clearly the ultimate backpack!!! I love this thing!

There is no better way to visit the Greek Islands than by sailboat and today started a 10 day Santorini to Santorini loop through the Cyclades Islands in the Aegean Sea with Gap Adventures; the same company I was a tour leader for in Central America. Our first stop was the mellow Anafi Island where I got to know the skipper and four other crew mates. Our captain, island guide, and expert sailor is Vince from Ireland. To say he is qualified to do this job is an understatement. He has his Yacht Master certification, 20,000 miles of experience during his time on the water, owns his own 30 foot sailboat boat back in Cork, and is also a licensed airplane pilot and a professional architect. It appears as if we are good hands.

My fellow passnegers are Lydia from Vancouver, Janet from Niagra Falls Canada, Demetra from Cyprus but lives in London, Lone from Denmark, and Dave, one of the other Gap Adventure's skippers hanging out with us for a couple days until his next trip starts.
