Prince in the 'hood (have we mentioned we went to see Prince?) was going to be a hard act to follow, but the following day we were up early for a trip to the Getty Museum and Hollywood, and we were really looking forward to it. The museum was fabulous, and as the collection was started by an insanely rich American, it was full of really old stuff from Europe, rich Americans LOVE really old stuff from Europe! We were there for the morning, but we could have stayed all day. We wished we had, later on, when we were on our disappointing 'Hollywood' tour. The guide was rubbish, the view of the 'Hollywood' sign from Mulholland Drive was poor, Hollywood Boulevard itself was tacky, and Rodeo Drive was as depressing and as full of idiots as only a place with Louis Vuitton and Vertu shops can be! Although Sal DID see Arnold Schwarzenegger there, so it wasn't a complete let-down!
Our trip to Universal Studios was great fun, though. The rides were fantastic, and I can't believe how much I enjoyed having my picture taken with Homer Simpson and Donkey from Shrek! It was a long day, but well worth the trip.
Our accents are still a big hit with Californians, Sally-Anne's been told her Liverpool accent is lovely countless times now, but some people STILL think I'M Irish or Scottish, I'm not happy about that! We leave LA tomorrow, next stop; Palm Springs!
