We finally arrived at Yacutinga Lodge, after a two hour flight, and a two hour drive through the jungle. Our driver had never been to this hotel before, and as there were no signs to it, he had to stop at least five times to ask directions. We passed a wrecked car with kids playing in it, only for it to come driving past us minutes later when we stopped at the crossroads. Big disappointment today, it became clear that the Chile/Atacama desert portion of our trip would have to be cancelled. We were supposed to be driving from Purmamarca in Argentina, to San Pedro De Atacama in Chile, via the Jama Pass, in the Andes. Unfortunately, the pass is closed due to heavy snowfall, so it's back to Salta for a couple of nights instead.
