Day 36 -25 May - road trip time in an OTT American beast- a 6.6L V8 GMC Denali (see pic) - called a “full size SUV” by the locals. It was up early again , off for an early pancake and sausage at the Broadway Bagel again. brush teeth and taxi out to La Guardia to pick up the beast. More excess charges, money changed hands and we were away, driving on the wrong side of the road in a way too big vehicle, in crazy fast NY traffic. Somehow we made out the other side of NY and onto I78 all the way to Mechanicsburg and our 1st road-trip B&B - nice 2 bedroom apartment. As the miles had slipped by I found the old LH drive muscle memory returned and the Denali proved pretty easy to drive.
We found our Bnb pretty easily and settled in for a rest. Later we connected with the Hickoks and it was off to Appalachian Brewing for beer , good food and a trivial pursuit quiz. It was great to see Peter Caroline and Steven again and they all seemed happy and there were lots of fun conversations with Seft outdoing himself with funny stories. Too late we came home and into bed after another great day
