The adventures of Jon and Jecs!
I had the most amazing time staying with the buddhist monks. In the afternoon we spoke with amonk who had the most amazing presence and control. Every movement he made had a purpose and he was just beautiful!I couldn't take my eyes of him and i dont know why!he just had an amazing presence which i cant explain. In the evening we had medidtation lessons with him which i enjoyed alot and felt honoured to have him as my teacher! In the morning he invited us to collect alms with him, which meant getting up at 5 in the morning(after sleeping ona marble floor so i was a bit cold and sstiff) and us girls pushed their trolley while the monks and the boys collected food of the local people on the road. The respect people have for the monks is amazing and the fact that they all thinkof others as soon asthey wake up is pretty inspiring. Women are not allowed to touch the monks or any thing that they handle, so we aeren't allowed to take anything from them or even touch their food, it was quite wierd especially as the food was goinmg to tip out the cart and we couldn't save it! it did nt thankgfully but we must have looked very scared because the monks were laughing their heads of at us!
It was a very cool experiance and i am so glad i had the chance to do it.
Our group have come to Bangkok for the weekend cos some of them have nt been here yet, so we are showing them the sights! I am meeting wwith jon tomorrow i am so excited! We haven't seen each other in 3 weeks!
Hope all is good at home!
love Jecsxxxxxxxxxxxx
