Tuesday 13th Jan

Slept in for breakfast this morning! !! Don't know what we'll be like tomorrow when we have to be up at 5.45!! Think it was the hottest day today. Got the boat to the posh part of the area and visited Duncans hotel, the Shangrila. Got off early so we could have a walk around the area. Saw more temples (yes there are even more temples)and a crematorium, and intended to do the canal cruise but it was late when we got there and we're doing a longboat trip tomorrow so just had a drink at the hotel admiring the view. It was lovely there. Beer and a vodka and tonic cost 3 times the price of our meal and drinks at khoasan san road last night. But got to say it's a lovely hotel! Then we took the boat past our pier so we could see what it was like the other end. Got off at what seemed to be a demolition site (building a new temple and Buddha) then took the next boat back to a recommended riverside restaurant. It was very nice but starters and mains came out all at the sametime but it was very enjoyable with a nice bottle of wine. Got our map out for the taxi back. One driver said, no way, the other said yes way and off we went. Good job Sam knew where we were going because the driver didn't. Took us all round the houses and the total bill was £1.40!!

It's 10.45 now so off to bed before our 2 day trip. Getting picked up by taxi at 6.15!!!! Oh my lord! Are there 2, 6.15s in one day?
