Hi J & P. At last your parcel has arrived safe and sound. I see you've seen one or two birds Pete! Nakura National Park must have been amazing. We are looking forward to seeing the photos when we have them developed. Your jewellery box is absolutely beautiful Janet. I'm so glad these things have all arrived. The key ring for Eric is amazing. Francis Maina must have very nimble and strong fingers as well as a wonderful imagination. Once again the jewellery matches the recipients style and personality beautifully.
Yesterday we cycled to Saltram - the river path was lovely with the autumn colours. Today we have gales, very low pressure and spring tides bringing flooding in Looe and damage to sea defences along south Cornwall. Oh, I forgot to mention the rain. Bet you wish you were here! Have fun. Love Mum

Hi. It was Charlie's birthday yesterday so we went to a curry & quiz night at The Avonwick. Andrew, Nicola, Charlie & Joa won! We came 2nd (Margaret, Parky, Sally, Rob & I). I think we annoyed the locals who accused Charlie of cheating as she was texting her friend in portugal (not for the answers!). Good fun though. It is half term and foul weather (although today is nice). Have been to Riverford Farm shop to buy lots of nice food (& wine). Been to see a fab film that you MUST watch when you get back - Bride & Prejudice (a Bollywood version!). So funny. Glad all is well. Take good care. Lots of Love Lisa xx

Hi Little Miss Winona Guy
Hope you are having a great half term holidays with all your family. say hi to Daisy, Bryn and rowan for me, not forgetting our mad uncles and aunts. Great to hear that you are getting on with the saxaphone. Are you going to be the new Lisa Simpson. Say hi to Grandma for me, give her a ring some time she will be glad to hear from you. We have tried to use a phone card to get through to England but it is not working so our texts and emails will have to do for now. We will have more time to ourselves again for a few days in Malawi so i will try again then soon. How is the book reading going. Write and tell me about the latest one you are reading. Have you been swimming or climbing lately. i hope you are getting the chance to go. Keep working hard at school and playing your music. Glad you liked the jewellry we sent. that was made at the shelter by the boys. Got to go now so here is a big hug.******** Keep smiling

Hi all,
this is a flying visit so i have to be quick. We are in Dar Es Salem awaiting a ferry in half hour to Zanzibar where we will be staying for 4 days. It is so hot and sticky. camped on a beach under palm trees last night, went for a night swim and a swim at five this morning as the sun came up. It is the warmest sea i have ever swam in. So we are now in Tanzania and have been travelling on our truck since last friday. Its a bit cramped and hectic, have not had a moment to rest and most mornings have started either at 4.30 or 5.30. We have done safaris to the serengeti and the Ngorogoro crater both of which were fantastic. Elephants, lions, cheetah and a Serval stalking in the grass. camped in the bush and heard hyenas at night.
Thanks for your message nikki, yeah we will be doing the same route as you but in another 4 weeks. can we make it??? We,ve heard the same about Ben and are trying to contact him about possibly meeting up in Cape Town.
JJJ and D, NGuy Band just saying hi. Hope you have a great half term with winona.
Winsome, where are you and how are you doing? Hope school is going well. We hope to try and phone home in the next few days but this is only a hope. Would still love to get some messages from you Winona, haven't read one from you for so long. Is everything ok with your computer? Speak to my brothers if you have problems.
Just letting you all know we have a small problem with our mobile at this minute , not sure if we are recieving all our texts. keep them coming though we will get it sorted asap. Posties are on the way from our recent safaries.
Lots of love and hugs to you all and a big squeeze for little Win from Africa.
Peter and janet

Had a nice cuppa with Cate the other day and she told me all about the problems you guys are having - what a chuffin nightmare - I really hope you can work it all out for the best for those poor kids. Your emails and postcards are so cool to read - you are really making a difference. By now you will be on your way overlanding. I am sooooooo jealous - we have just framed some of the photos from our trip. Are you doing the route we did in reverse? (Vic Falls/OKavango Delta/Etosha/Swapokmund/Sossosvlei/Fish river Canyon/Orange River/Cape Town) You will love it - our highlight was Dead Vlei at Sossosvlei so dont miss that out. The colours are wow - and the animals at Etosha are so cool - elephants every where - Janet you will love it!
Things here are cool - christened our open fire on Fridays night - then yesterday 20 of us went go karting in Cornwall - it was such a laugh - Alan B ended up in the middle of a field (20m off course), Alan T got disqualified in the final and Rob R won (Boo) Andy lost to Hazel in the final so ego well and truely dented! Then we camped at Watergate and had an ace sunset meal at the beach bar and staggerred back up that big hill to the camp site after Andy and Gareth did some major pool hustling in the Pheonix! That is offically our last camp of the year cos it was fffrrrreeezzziinngg!!! (still looking for a camper though) Better sign off - only one week to half term - yippee - loads of fun stuff planned and Andys Mum and Dad are coming down to see our new house. Do you guys have an email for Ben S - we have totally lost contact and Tonks sent an email saying he has taken a sabbatical? Have fun you lucky people you! (Give each other a hug from me!)
Janet
Well it's our last day in Naivasha today. So far I have spent it typing up a report on our experience to present to the committee. It doesn't make pretty reading! Thank you to all the lovely people we have met here especially: Igal, Nili, Cindy, Minalyn, Peter and Chege. You have been fabulous friends and tremendous support. Thanks to mum, Su and Cate who have spent ridiculous amounts of money ringing me... I really appreciate it. Pete has just texted to say tha the was physically removed from evil dictator's office today. Hurray!! No real problems though. We're out of here on a flower farm truck tomorrow! I'm back off to the shelter now to play games with the boys and generally enjoy my last day. Big party tonight. Kerry, thanks for keeping in touch Sweetie, but please remember that the teachers you are being so nasty about are my close friends and that they will be reading this too. It's offensive and needs to stop immediately. Keep in touch by email if you want. Everyone else. Keep the messages coming. Email is fine but I can't reply to it easily. Love to all. Janet
Pete
HI ALL THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL YOUR MESSAGES AND STAYING IN TOUCH. Nikki thanks for the volley ball basics, will put them into practice this pm. have been hoping to play cricket too but after 8 weeks we are no further with creating a decent pitch. Mind you we have been speaking to local sponsors and have been given the go ahead to bring in earth moving equip so i think things will happen in a big way soon but too late for my expert cover drives to be witnessed! Alan great story about the fume cupboard. That sort of experience is what we deal with day to day here. We ordered new jeans for all our boys here the other day. A man from the shop came up and measured all the boys to ensure the right sizes. All was written and recorded. a week later they turn up with any old sizes that do not fit the boys. we have a minor domestic and find out which boys have jeans that fit. 10 or so boys are re measured and new jeans sent for. They come again next day with once again any old sizes and hope they fit. As jeans fall down around boys ankles the tailor says that s fine, he has room to grow into them !!!!!!!
M, J and baby A great to stay in touch with you. Give that baby a hug and a kiss from me. She sounds great and its soooo fantastic that you are really living your life with her. Snow boarding and boating what a great time she is going to have with such fab parents. every day will be more fun with more smiles.
Lisa - great to hear from you and janet will actually be glad to hear all about school because she is a bit of a werdo. you will note the conspicuous absence of any work related contact from any of my associates. Well done DCC for not contacting me.
Cate you are not the only one getting weird feelings about us. Things are getting mildly stressful here but i think we are coping. the evil dictator is fighting back and she is out for our blood. we may get booted out of here before wednesday. We are sticking to our guns and only reporting to the full committe and the evil dictator is going spare because she is losing control. But the reolution is not holding tight and certain committee members are buckling under pressure. So we leave the shelter in the same turmoil as many african countries. a rapid response aid team may be needed soon.
Cate
hi there you two, hope you are ok and making the most of your last week there. as lisa said i went into school on my way to get abi ,felt very weird. Ridgeway is ok still, had a yr 11 cover from hell the other day. lots of love Cate

Mufti day tomorrow! We are doing it for Jeans for Genes. Jon Floyd told me to tell you he got 2 As in Science! Glad to hear you are better and that surgery was not needed. N Johnston got Citizenship point. Cannot think of any more school news. Cate popped in to school the other day - it was nice to see her but she did not stay long. Take care. Love Lisa x x x
