At our end of the world, we have managed to time our arrival in a Thai tropical paradise with the arrival of the monsoonal rains. It has now been raining for 14 hours and shows no sign of stopping. And we am not refering to piddly Britisih drizzle! We have stuffed ourselves silly with food, read for hours, played Scrabble and "who am I?" and have now braved the rains (I have soggy knickers to prove it) in order to use the internet.
Plans now are to wait out the rains and hopefully get the beach holiday we've been looking forward to for the last few weeks/months. If not then I have longer to shop in Bangkok!! Either way it's all good.

Hey you 2 - cant believe its only 4 weeks to go!YYYYIIIIIPPPPPPPPPPPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!Cant wait to catch up - your heads must be buzzing! Just had a fab weekend in Lands End. 15 of us went- Andy and I, Hazel and Gareth, Geni, Jon and Sue, Mark and Claire, Charlie, Suzanne R, Margaret and Parky, Alan and Ruth. Friday went to the minack to see a really wierd adaptation of HG Wells The Time Machine. Sat hit the beach big time - sennen but the surf was flat. So had fun body surfing instead. BBQ in the eve and some really bad singing/shouting with some not so bad guitar playing! Still going surfing on a Tues after school. Had some really good ones. This week is D of E coastal walks, surfing, golf, athletic comps and a beach BBQ at Bigbury to finish it all off. The weeks go by so quickly it's scary.
See you both very, very soon
Lots of love

Hi there both. We've had yet another lovely summer's day. The sun loungers have been well used - in the shade of course. Managed to find a cool job to do, cutting back ivy from inside the cool hedgerow. Great postcards. I'll be interested to hear your plans for the next few weeks. Make the most of it, love Mum

G'day guys, Photos of Vietnam look awesome. I'll have to put Ha Long Bay on my places to visit list. Looks like there might be some good diving around there too. Janet - you're hair's grown a lot, or is it just messy?? Picture of you in the smelly floating market on the Mekong is a classic! A message to you're friend asking why the rain smells so nice - it's because the rain drops disturb bacteria (can't recall the name of it at the moment) in the soil which become airborne and give rise to the smell of fresh rain. : ) see ya, Brett
Janet
Love ya, mad girl blue
Or A Big Black Thunder Cloud

why are bananas not pink? they would look much better pink. I might even want to eat one then. Why does nail varnish never stay on? - I'll never look like a grown up. Why does rain smell so lovely? Is it because my nose is broken? so many questions .....

Hi all, thanks for all your wonderful messages and emails. We are currently exploring the temples at Angkor Wat. So far it has been outstanding. We are grounded right now by Monsoon rains which hit on us the second we decided to go out for the afternoon. Another couple of days pretending to be Indiana Jones and we will be heading back to Phnom Penh before hitting the beaches of the Cambodian Coast on the way to Thailand. (Cue the long anticipated "holidays in Cambodia" name check Mr J Guy).
