Hi everybody, this is now my 2nd attempt at writing this postcard as I mysteriously lost all my wiritng in the middle of a sentence...I was about to take the mick out of Nikki and Andy, maybe this machine has met you before and is defending your honour!! Pete has gone to the photo shop to pick up our digital photo disc so hopefully we should have photos on the web soon. I am in the computer place with one of the boys from the shelter where we are staying. John is having his first computer lesson whilst helping to write to you all so you are a very privilaged group of friends!! Since I last wrote I have been very ill, I have to have an operation on Tuesday...wish me luck...no witch doctor jokes please! Despite that we took 12 of the boys to the Kenya Wildlife Service swimming pool on Sunday and then had a bbq in the field. Just your average day out... you know, I went for a stroll whilst the food was cooking, as you do, and came upon a small herd of zebra....just like in England!!! It was the first day that had felt like we were on holiday, complete with bikini and sun tan lotion. I have been painting the dining hall of the shelter into a bright patchwork quilt of colours, it is beginning to look quite good now, when it is finished I will take a photo and show you my handywork. Actually the boys have done most of the painting, I'm more of an overseer (read control freak extraordinaire!) I taught my first two lessons this week. One was English, predictably, the 2nd I taught this morning.....Kiswahili!! I actually taught Kenyan boys thier own language... how cool was that . I feel invincible, I can teach anything!! Tell Dr Sweeney I need a pay increase when I get back! This morning I taught more jewellry making. I will send some home for a few people I think. Anyway life is fabulous, Peter is going to be 39 tomorrow but I'm not alllowed to mention it to him as he doesn't want to get any older! I will sign off now before I lose the whole message again.
