I had to visit one last thing in Oslo before I left, Holmenkollbakken, a massive ski jump within walking distance of their house. Originally built in 1892, it has been remodeled 19 times and is now the most modern ski jump in the world. Just last winter it hosted the World Ski Championships and is actually the number one tourist attraction in Norway! Julie had to go downtown for a job interview but Camilla and Petter had the day off of school so they walked with me over to the jump after breakfast. We looked briefly through the connected Holmenkollen Ski Museum and then rode the elevator up to the top. It had a fantastic view of the city and you could look down the track the skiers go on. I don't know how they have the nerve to go off it! We couldn't stay long cause I had my train to catch so I said goodbye and rode the T-Bane down to Oslo Cenral and soon enough I was on my to Göteborg, Sweden. Peter lent me the book Bringing Down the House, which the movie 21 is based off of, so I was engrossed in that for the whole trip. After I arrived in Göteborg, I waited for about 10 minutes for Hannah's train to come in. Her uncle Daniel picked us up and told me about the city as we drove to his house. There I met his wife Viveka and their 3 kids. We had dinner and then went for a walk down to the beach nearby. I brought my swimsuit along and the water wasn't very cold (nothing like it was in Mo, Norway) so I jumped right in. The body of water is called the Kattegat (or Kattegatt) and it lies between Denmark and Sweden and is connected to the Baltic and North Seas. Now I can say I swam in Scandinavian waters! It was a great way to end the day. Hannah and I are exploring Göteborg tomorrow so time for sleep!
