Today, I said goodbye to Peter and Sissel and hopped on a train bound for Oslo and new adventures. I'm staying with Sissel's sister Anne Christine and her family for two nights. Their oldest daughter Julie met me at the train station when I arrived. She had just come home the day before from studying at UW of all places! We walked around the downtown area for awhile and she showed me the opera house, Akershus Festning (Akershus Fortress, which was built in the 13th century to protect Oslo) and the royal palace. It was a pretty warm day and I was still hauling around my big backpack so we decided to head to their house. We caught the T-Bane and Julie's sister Camilla just happened to be on it with some friends so we sat with them and chatted on the way up. Their house is about 30 minutes from downtown on the train and has an incredible view over Oslo and the surrounding forests. I met Anne Christine, Petter (the 3rd oldest) and Christina (the youngest) and then we all sat down for dinner. Their dad, Lasse, is away on a business trip but I'll get to meet him tomorrow when he comes back. The whole family is busy with school and work tomorrow, so I'm going to go explore the city on my own. This will be the first time I'm sightseeing alone on my trip!
