Regrettably our time in Sydney was up, however, we managed to bag a killer deal on flights to the Gold Coast – our next stop. We arrived in Southport, for our week long thrill seeking holiday. We stayed in a great apartment complex with swimming pool and spa. Dawn Shopped, Jason watched and we generally chilled in the basking sun. We took a trip to ‘DreamWorld’, the Gold Coast’s answer to Alton Towers and spent the day riding, screaming, eating, riding, screaming – you get the drift!. The top rides were The Drop and the Tower of Terror and they were scary! We also ventured to White Water World, on the only day we have seen a rain downpour the whole time we have been in Australia. However, it did not spoil our fun as we were wet anyway. We were like a couple of kids, raging all over the park. Lots of adrenaline pumping water rides like you can’t imagine. Jays favourite was the Roller Coaster – yes it was a water ride and yes it simulated a roller coaster. Dawns favourite was the Green Room – a funnel shaped ride that shot you up and down the sides and than spat you out. Fun! Half way through the day Dawn noticed her bikini was becoming little worn (you could see her butt) and was probably caused by the friction of pelting it about the park! as to not distract the other riders (or scare the children) she spent the rest of the day wearing a top over the bikini - and that cozy was left in a rubbish bin in the park at the end of play. After going on each ride 10 times we called it a day (we got chucked out) and headed home. The Gold Coast - a tourist resort through and through but definitely worth a visit – so much fun.
