We arrived in Brisbane not really knowing what to expect as we hadn’t heard much about it, and we have been pleasantly surprised. It is a really nice city. I wouldn’t say there was heaps to do activity wise but enough to keep you going for a week or so. We have mainly done the sight seeing thing and updated web, emails, photos all loads of admin really. We have again stayed in a really nice apartment, we have just been spoiling ourselves to much with accommodation and reality might have to hit soon!!!! We have spent a lot of time in Roma Gardens and South Bank Parklands, both beautiful areas of the city, which would be appealing to all of you reading this. The Parklands is an area south of Brisbane just over the river which clearly has had a lot of investment recently it has a man made lagoon with sand, Boardwalk that is so pretty at night with lights and plant, water fountains have been built and there are cafes, restaurants, cool stalls to spend lots of dosh it’s generally a really place to wile away the time. We have also gone running every other night (yes I should now be a size 8, but alas along with running came the cake eating!!!) around the Roma gardens which have had 75 million dollars spent on them and boy you can tell, they are magnificent, the array of plants, flowers and water features are great. I know I sound like an advert for Brisbane tourist board, but we just had to let you know about these areas, as this is where we spent most of our time. Today we leave for Fiji, and should get there 9pm tonight, so we are looking forward to some Fiji beach life for a couple of weeks before we hit our New Zealand leg of the tour. Update pretty much done, hope everything is good back home, and you all get lots of Easter eggs and stuff yourselves silly with chocolate, (Lindsey, Yvonne (the two biggest chocoholics I know) let me know the Easter choco count please and you better now be eating Sams and Daisy’s eggs!). You will be pleased to know we are treating ourselves to Easter eggs too!!! Yummy.
