Today we got up early so we could say the final goodbye to our group. They were continuing for another 5 weeks, finishing in Kigali, Rwanda. As we walked away, really on our own now, we felt a little bit jealous, but also pretty excited to be heading onto Mauritius for some luxury. Five more weeks of roughing it sounded a bit overwhelming to us! So we packed up and waited for our transfer to the airport.
Arriving in Johannesburg and clearing customs we headed out in to the big world of Jo/burg where everyone is so friendly. They were waiting to take our bags, offer us a ride into town, or just talk to us... Only one catch, it will cost you money and if no money was put forward then they were no longer your friend. So with our bags tightly held we made our way to the bus terminal to get our airport transfer to the hotel. Finally on bored, This was quite fun. The driver seemed to be quite confused with how to use an accelerator, slowly we made our way to the hotel with the sounds of Mariah Carey playing loudly. Checked in we walked to our room opened the door and in child like excitement found a huge room with two king sized beds. What luxury after three weeks in a tent..... After hitting the shower, we hit the Casino to use up the last of our South African currency and enjoyed a bottle of red with some Indian for dinner. Bliss.
