Finally waking up without an alarm and after indulging in the brekkie buffet we packed up and headed for the airport. This time we were treated to the tones of Lionel Richie in our mini bus transfer, and overnight the driver had still not figured out how to use the accelerator. Finally at the terminal we braced ourselves for the standard hassles from porters but with game faces on we stared them down and ploughed through. Once in the terminal we indulged in duty free shopping and waited for our flight. We reluctantly said goodbye to Africa from the air as we flew over the east coast and headed across Madagascar to Mauritius. We arrived and obtained yet another stamp in the passports before finding our transfer. Thank god this guy was not a fan of pathetic tunes and seemed to be Mark Webber's French brother, hoping to make the 2011 formula one team. From here we figured you don't really want to hear what happens. Sitting by the pool, drinking cocktails everyday may become a repetitive read.
So our final sentiments are this....
If you have ever thought that Africa might be an interesting place to visit - we can absolutely say that it is. This experience has been amazing to say the least. While there are absolutely difficulties associated with traveling in a developing country, these are far outweighed by the spectacular scenery, wild animals and beautiful people. We embraced the saying T.I.A. (This is Africa) keeping in mind things don't happen quickly but everything is worth the wait. Hopefully we can bring this relaxed approach home!
As we were so fittingly told, you can leave Africa, but Africa never leaves you, and we can say without doubt this is true for us.

Erin Downes OMG! In true Erin spirit - you just brought a tear to my eye!! It just sounds like you had such an awesome time. Beautiful scenery, wonderful things to look at and experience. Its also always good to hear of the little things about an adventure, ie. the music that was playing in the bus.....these are the things that you will look back on with a smile and laugh :)
