Prague is one of the cities around the world that has been bestowed the title of "Paris of the East", though the Czechs would quickly remind you they're part of central Europe, it seems "east" is a dirty word to them. Considering we weren't really impressed with Paris, and knowing that Prague also comes with its own hype, we had managed to keep our expectations in check upon arrival.
What we found in the centre of Prague was a buzzing, atmospheric city with plenty of charming architecture. We spent our few days there wandering the streets, including visiting the castle that overlooks the city from above which provides some excellent views of the red roofed houses and gothic churches. We also spent some quality time in one of the nearby large park/garden areas which was popular amongst the locals. One factor which we've come to realise lately is that the weather ends up having a huge effect on whether we enjoy a destination, so it was no coincidence that we happened to love it and we had nice sunshine during our time there.
We enjoyed Prague quite a lot, a fine city to sit in the main square and soak up the atmosphere while also having plenty of parks to escape the hustle and bustle.
