We arrive in Katherine early and settle into a caravan park about 5 km east of town. A couple of loads of washing, showers and we are ready to explore town which was busy. Famous for it's gorge, floods and WW2 history Katherine is a key centre for pastoralists and communities across Arnhem Land.

Glenys It was the only place where I deliberately ironed shorts on our caravan hol with Janine and Twiggy. It was not worth the effort in the heat and so I vowed not to iron at all. Since then I have only brought out the iron 10 times since April 2001! True. I only buy clothes that don't need ironing and throw out or hide the ones that do. Can anyone beat that?
