How quickly these seven days in Prague have gone by. We have become familiar with the city, have learned some basic Czech words like "děkuji" for "thank you" and figured-out the meaning of "most" which means bridge. We also learned that fast click sounds at a traffic light indicate you can cross, while slow ones say hold your horses. If you don't pay attention, you could be hit and no one would ever even look back --they'd just toss you over the Charles Bridge and go on.
We did miscellaneous exploring today with plans to get on a tram and go to the end of the line on the path following the river. We learned that switching from metro to tram can be challenging. We should have started trying it a few days ago. Every tram bound for South of the River that we boarded eventually hit one spot and turned around. We became so frustrated! Then we finally figured out that the line was closed due to repairs and construction -- if we wanted to go south, we had to take a bus instead. We opted to take the easy way out and just had lunch. By then, we made our way back to Old Town, did some necessary shopping and returned to the hotel to rest a bit and re-pack for our flight tomorrow morning.
Still hoping for a relaxing dinner tonight. We have had wonderful meals here and have even done some cooking on our own with sausages and cabbage and breads from the market. Unbelievably delicious.
Now it's off to Napoli in the early morning!
