Long journey yet again but we arrived in Bonito and there were a lot of celebrations going on,it was the Brazilian spring bank holiday so it was very festive. The hotel was very nice too,the breakfast was to die for, loads of fruit, ham and cheese and as always cakes even big chocolate ones, gave them the wide berth as I'm developing a wide berth.
The word Bonito means beautiful and it is a beautiful place, found a place that makes wonderful coffe, the first since I arrived in South America, still to find a good cup of tea!!
The next day I went, WAIT FOR IT, snorkelling. The farm land around Bonito has clear, clear rivers running through them and the most amazing collection of tropical fish.I had to put a wee short wet suit on and practice in the pool first,we then sailed out in the boat to our launching point.I managed down the river for an hour, just came up for air once,it was like being in a tropical fish tank.At the end of the river there was a huge pool with a trapeze across it and in a moment of madness I joined the girls in hurling myself along a pulley and jumped into the water,it did wonders for my dry eyes and nose,it was quite a good sensation actually but I dont think I´ll be doing it again!! After we had a cold shower then went for a buffet lunch, the Brazilians like their buffets.
Next night we took a night bus through the ranches of Motto Grosso to Foz De Iguassu. The bus wasn't too bad but as usual I didn't sleep, thank goodness for my mp3,thankyou Ron for the wee lesson in music downloading.I listen to my varied assortment of music and look at the night sky.I nearly got chucked off the bus one night as I couldn't contain myself when listening to the Corries singing " The Portree Kid "
