We spent 5 days in this area stopping to take pictures of old buildings and to taste the local wines and cheeses. Lovely drives.

We braved the weather and got soaking wet but we were on Parliament Hill for the 150th Birthday Celebrations. It was exciting to be part of the crowd. We drove around Kingston and went to Fort Henry and then drove by the Kingston Penitentiary which is extremely large. The highlight of the Kingston area was visiting Gananoque a very quaint town. From here we took a boat cruise around the 1,000 Island. We cruised around the Boldt Castle and saw the million dollar homes. Our first day of rain and it poured. We heard thunder and saw some lightning and many of the cars had on four way flashers. We drove into Parry Sound the home of Bobby Ore for a Tim Hortons stop and gas and it continued to pour. What a drive.

We had a short stay at Sudbury, Ontario but fit in driving over to check out Dynamic Earth where they have a tour of mining for nickel. We were not in time to take the tour big we did get to see the large nickel outside. The setup is well done with a great playground for kids.
