We drove around Kingston and went to Fort Henry and then drove by the Kingston Penitentiary which is extremely large. The highlight of the Kingston area was visiting Gananoque a very quaint town. From here we took a boat cruise around the 1,000 Island. We cruised around the Boldt Castle and saw the million dollar homes. If there was a tree from the rocks it was classed as an island therefore 1,000 Islands. We learned that 1,000 Island Salad Dressing originated here. George Boldt who built the castle for his love Louise tasted the ketchup, mayo and relish dressing one evening and decided to market it. We were lucky that it was a beautiful sunny afternoon.
