Hello Again all,
Still in Delhi, off to Agra for the Taj Mahal in the morning and our first experience on an Indian train. Had a busy and loud few days in Delhi, it really is the most intense city, the only time when we don't get unwanted attention is when we're back at the hostel! Still, it's all part of the experience I suppose. Delhi's a strange place, it's beautiful and deserted in places like the Forts and tombs, but then as soon as you leave these havens of peace then it's all in your face again, and quite hard to deal with.
Stories of interest..
Both still suffering with Jetlag - C and N, I watched what I believe to be Splsh! last night - remember that film about the mermaid?! James has watched some football and final score - he's chuffed! we watched a terrible Kiera Knightly film - 'Domino' - it's part of our holiday quotes already!
The local kids find it funny to throw things at us - mainly water - it's actually quite pleasurable. Ha and indeed, ha!
Guy in tuk tuk todat tried to sell us a japanese guide to India - even though we said we were leaving tomorrow!?
Off onto the train tomorrow to Agra and the Taj Mahal, really looking forward to it, and we're hoping our next accommodation will come equipped with the following:
a) a window
b) bedsheets
c) an air vent not containing a nesting pigeon (we named this the pigeon microwave!)
We're staying with a retired Indian army colonel and his family, so looking forward to some real hospitality. After that it's off across the state of Rajasthan for some smaller, less terrifying towns.
I think that's about it for now, Rois has just managed to connect to home over Skype and is very happy. We're both well, hope you all are too.
GOOD BYE DELHI!!!!! xxxxxxxxxxx
