Agra Fort
We woke up to the worst weather M&D have seen in India, it wasn't awful just a bit overcast and colder than usual-no sunbathing today. We didn't have the cute guide from Fatehpur Sikri so I was promoted back to guiding duties, which wasn't entirely successful as I delivered a backwards tour of the fort! We walked to Taj Ganj, the backpacking area of Agra and after stroking some cows we took our first electric tuk tuk to the fort. M&D got to see their first Indian monkeys and we timed our arrival just right because as we left there was a huge part of Indians lining up to enter and it began to rain.
The fort was very impressive with lovely buildings from different periods, the nicest prison room and a view of a hazy Taj Mahal. Mum, James and I all fed some tame chipmunks courtesy of a lovely old guy who must feed them every day. They even jumped into our hands and sat whilst they munched through the biscuits- Dad was too scared to try.
We had a drink at CCD and Mum got some good cow karma when she fed a very cute calf which had waited outside for us to finish our drinks, like a dog begging! We attempted to watch Bollywood in a dodgy looking cinema in the afternoon to avoid the worst of the rain but there were no English subtitles so we took a peak in the desolate mall and hailed a tuk tuk back to avoid the rain. James was shoved in the front again but he started to joke around with the driver and then the guy just let James drive. It was quite possibly my scariest experience of driving in India and we weren't even going that fast! Dad and James had another buffet dinner and Dad had already eaten a meal mid-afternoon, he never stops! Mum treated me to a much needed pedicure and we managed to catch up with Jenny on viber so she filled us in with some more classic quotes from Chris and Gail!
