Best exit from Oz
Robyn and Adam had work during the weekend so we arranged to meet Lorraine. we all went over for the evening to have a lovely BBQ and some drinks. those of you who know robyn understand that some drinks usually means she is pretty wasted! we had great fun catching up and sharing stories and it was great to meet Lorraine's fiancée.
The next morning Lorraine was taking us mountain biking. We borrowed their very top quality equipment and after a short drive to the mountains we were all geared up and ready to go. I didn't realise how hardcore mountain biking is and thought if you could ride a bike it was just going down hill. It is not. You ride over rocks, tree stumps and not little ones actual huge rocks!! I was scared for around 80% of the time but the adrenaline rush was brilliant and it was a lot of fun. Lorraine didnt bother taking her phone for directions and inevitably we got lost! We had to ride up this giant hill towards what we thought was the road, it wasn't so we came back down and James found the way out. To top it off it started to rain as we got to the road. Lorraine was really apologetic but we weren't bothered at all, it was all part of the fun we had such a good day. Lorraine dropped us back and we said goodbye but we'll be back to visit them at some point.
In the evening we met up with mike, Michelle and Adam who we'd met doing the quiltoa loop in Ecuador. They were on top form and we had a good, albeit quick catch up.
For a treat on Monday and our last full day in Perth Robyn, Adam, Zoe, Jonny, James and I all went for a slap up meal (and a few cheeky wine tastings) at Sandford winery. Jonny is the manager there so we got a very cheap meal that was five star food and wine. We had a great time and tasted some awesome food. It was the perfect way to end an awesome week. Obviously we couldn't just leave it at that so when we got back we had a change of clothes and a sudden urge for bowling.
I am pretty sure the management at the bowling place will never let Robyn, Adam, Jonny and Zoe in again! We made complete disgraces of ourselves when the frozen daiquiris became our main source of rehydration! Robyn had a disaster of a game and remains adamant that bowling is rubbish. We danced to rihanna as if we were out clubbing and to top the evening off Zoe and Robyn knocked over the juke box. After a speedy getaway we thought its be a good idea to visit the casino! I lost my quota of money in about 10 minutes as I listened to Robyn's advice about roulette-like she has a system!! Luckily James was up by quite a bit when Robyn got kicked out for, yep you've guessed it being too drunk. This meant we left (royal we) with money in our pockets. It was an eventful evening with a variety of activities and beverages, a great way to spend our last night down under.
The next day we packed up our stuff and got a few treats for our awesome hosts. We had delicious breakfast at Sayers sister for one last time. I managed to play crazy indoor beach volleyball as the match was early and our flight was late. Robyn and I got asked to play for another team as we are so skilled and it sounded like the lamest excuse 'nah sorry got a plane to catch!' I also got to play with Adam (volleyball) and he was a lot better than Robyn made out on the first night!
It was such a good week in Perth, visiting Robyn and meeting up with Lorraine and the guys from Ecuador. I highly recommend a holiday to Bulwer street if you want good banter, lots to do and even more to drink. Thanks everyone and especially Robs and Adam-this without a doubt makes up for all the times you crashed at our house!
