Iain and Jen kindly dropped us off at our very exclusive Tiger airways lounge area for our flight to Perth.
We landed in Perth at 12:00pm and I immediately text Robyn to let her know we were on our way. The response I got back didn't make too much sense and knowing she had spent the last few hours playing bogan bingo we had an incline of what we had in store. We shared our taxi with a young guy from Essex and luckily we dropped him at his hostel first because when we got to Robyn's house we saw a very drunk Robyn running up the road screaming to a guy (who we'll later know as Adam) "I told you it was them, I ran, I told you it was them, I knew it, I ran the whole way, I told you it was them" and this continued for a few minutes, until Adam had caught up and we had unloaded our bags. She seemed very pleased to see us and we were happy to be there!
We had a few drinks at their house while Robyn told us all about Perth, her job, volleyball, bogan bingo, how great her cafe is and how we were to make ourselves feel at home. This was pretty much on loop until we went to bed a few hours later!
It was a very amusing night for us but apparently not that memorable for Adam. In the morning when we went to see Robyn at the famous cafe he admitted that he couldn't remember what we looked like-haha! We had an amazing breakfast at 'Sayers Sister' with a still drunk Robyn serving us and a very hung over Adam. James and I borrowed their bikes and went into the city and along the river. It was a beautiful sunny day and there were a lot of people out in their bikes, most of them looked professional and took cycling very seriously. We walked up to the park on top of a hill to get some great views over Perth city. In the evening we went for a chilled out meal at a small Chinese in north bridge. Well it was supposed to be chilled out, but 4 bottles of wine later and we were out on the town, until we got asked to leave two bars as a result of being too awesome at dancing, or was it because I was bribing the DJ? Hmm, perhaps it was because I undone a random girls bra (Beth you would've been proud!). In the end I think we all decided it was because Perth drinking rules are very strict I now had sympathy for Robyn as she told us she always gets kicked out, they hate fun!
The next day we were feeling a little worse for wear so apart from a few errands we spent the day relaxing in. In the evening we had delicious home cooked food and played on the Wii. We realised Adam is amazing at mario kart, Robyn always gets the bullet and I am terrible. However, I redeemed myself with the computer skills for mortal kombat where I destroyed Robyn and her over dramatic fighting style!
Robyn had work in the morning so we didn't do too much, mainly just prepared ourselves for the afternoon at Fremantle. A couple from Sayers kindly dropped us at Fremantle and we went straight to little creatures brewery where Robyn's inside information was very useful. She ordered us a free taster session and, following Robyn's lead we drank them like shots and moved to the main bar to meet her friend Catherine, eat some chips and of course drink more little creatures! We went to a few more bars on the way back to the train station and took hilarious pictures by the Essex Street sign. Our train journey back was so much fun. We befriended a group of Taiwanese people and got them clapping along to Beth's song 'Confession' (download it on iTunes- Beth White & the Colourtones). They loved it, hopefully her international sales will go through the roof! The journey home wasn't all fun and games, when we got to Perth the ticket master threatened to fine Robyn as she hasn't swiped in. We argued her case as she had swiped in and had to top up at Fremantle to ensure she could get on the train. The train workers were clearly bored and on a power trip but let us go after we paid a one off fair. We weren't disheartened for long and stopped for another drink at Adams work before destroying pizza and garlic bread on the way home!
