Wine, wine, wine and port
Robyn and Adam managed to get another day off and we got up early to ensure we got to Margaret river as soon as possible to begin wine tasting. After a quick stop not to get a pie we were in Margaret river by 9:58 and tasting our first wine at 10:00!
The first part of the day was a bit of whirlwind of lots of amazing wineries, chocolate factories and a cheese tasting. Some highlights include James taking so much chocolate he has to hold his hand over the air con to stop it melting. Robyn posing in the posh toilets, with her pants down. Scaring Adam from his cat nap. Robyn befriending the lady at the deli counter. Getting a lot of free stickers from howling wolf. Trying delicious cheese, distracting the cheese lady so we could try a few more pieces. Robyn getting asked for ID at the pub. Trying the most amazing wine.
We had lunch in the town, with a beer of course and then managed to make it to two more wineries and on the cusp of closing we went to the port and very expensive winery. It was 5:00 by the time we finished so a full on day of wine. As you can imagine we were a bit worse for wear but had two bottles of wine and port to enjoy over cheese and bread. Robyn and I provided some top quality entertainment with our vocals singing along note and word perfect, much to the delight of James and Adam! At one point I was conscious that we should keep the noise down thinking it was late, when we looked at the time it was 20:10!
The next morning I woke up dreading tr hangover but felt fine, new drinking rule-only drink top quality wine/port and you'll be fine in the morning!
We made our way back to Perth stopping off at a few beautiful beaches along the way. It was such an awesome trip, we can see why Robyn and Adam have spent a few weekends here!
