It was an exciting and worrying time as we introduced Monica to a pair of keen French travellers. They seemed impressed with the exterior but wanted an inspection for the interior. It was a sensible option for them but meant we had to drive out of the centre of Melbourne to stay in a service station an then drive back in at rush hour in the morning! Both James and I were nervous, would Monica pass the test, would they buy it? She went into Kmart and we had everything crossed!
Thankfully she passed with only a few small repairs to be looked out within the next 1000 km. James and I were chuffed but the French were still unsure and wanted another day to decide. We couldn't have this so after a bit of persuasion a small price reduction and assurance from the mechanics we finally settled! We were free from the worries of Monica but got a good price and hope that she'll be good to the French and they'll have a great time with her.
We still had just over 2 weeks until our flight to Perth so we hired a 'Wicked' camper for 10 days to explore the Great Ocean Road and beyond. The van was fine to drive but the inside was a bit grim after the luxury of Monica!
