We are back in Whangarei! We are so excited to be back. Seeing little Millie was incredible but we both saw her and burst out laughing as she's put on loads of weight over Christmas so she's all chubby and adorable! Maree and Ben have said we can live here for however long we want to and RENT FREE! Which is just amazing. We asked them how much they wanted for food and they said they have a $200 weekly budget... If she spends over that then we will have to pay the tiny little bit of money that she goes over, but she said it won't ever happen. So basically we are living and eating for completely free we cannot believe it. She cooks us dinner every night and her cooking is incredible. We help ourselves to breakfast and lunch and snacks whenever we want to! We cannot believe how lucky we are to of met such a lovely couple. We walked to a river with them and Tom and Ben got in the river, Millie had to be carried half way as she got so tired bless her. Today we walked to town and handed out CV's. We set up a JOINT bank account because we are so grown up now haha the town is so lovely has loads of second hand shops which we love! Lots of little restaurants, bars and cafés. We have just been outside looking at the stars and apparently they get shooting stars all the time so hopefully we get to see one. Ben is starting to re-decorate the outside of his house so Tom is going to help him with that. We all went to bunnings and got stuff for if. It was a lovely day so Ben said let's go to the beach. We got excited, I got dressed and put some flip flops on. I thought it would be close so I stupidly didn't go for a wee before we left. We finally got there and there were no toilets.... I then found out it was a hike to the beach and I was in flip flops! I was livid haha it definitely reminded me of when my dad used to take us on these long walks. There were so many stairs down to the beach but we finally got there and then we realised we had to go up this mahooooosive hill to get to a view point he wanted to see. My feet were sweating which made it really hard to walk! He was at the top a good 10 minutes before we were! I'm so glad we did it though as the view at the top was so pretty you could see so much. We then hiked back down the hill to the beach. Tom and Ben went in to the sea and both caught sea urchins! They looked horrible and then Ben wanted to eat one, he's just as bad as Tom! We then went looking for memory stones and shells! He found a beautiful broken bit of shell in the water that he gave to me yay! This morning we woke up super early and went to Ocean Beach to try out surfing. When we got to the beach Ben said the waves weren't very good but Tom still went in whilst I sat and watched. After about two hours of them being in the sea and Ben only riding one wave we decided to go home. I went to go on the computer and stood in something squishy! I looked down and I had stood on a little poo of Millie's! God damn it! Trust it to be me! Tom and Ben found it hilarious, I did not. Tom went for an interview but he found out he had to have his own vehicle and it was part time and door to door sales. I had an interview in a cafe but it was for a barista and it's part time. We have applied for a lot so fingers crossed we will find something soon. Ben and Tom went surfing this morning. Me and Maree walked round the whole of the lake and then went for a coffee. We went in to a fudge shop and I got a fudgeccino which was incredible! Yesterday she made a pavlova, chocolate brownies and a lemon tart! They were all incredible but we were so full after! We went to a place called kerikeri yesterday it was a really cute city with lots of little vintage shops. Still no luck on the job front still keeping fingers crossed though. We went back to Ocean Beach yesterday and today we just chilled out in the garden with Millie and the paddling pool. We went to the supermarket and I felt something cold on my foot... I looked down and there was a giant wetter crawling up my leg it was so horrible and so so so big! I literally went crazy and couldn't stand still even though Tom kept telling me to stay still! It was stuck crawling up my leg and then I started hysterically crying! It was a nightmare eventually Tom got it off, I must of looked like a mental woman! Tom went surfing with Ben this morning so me and Maree went food shopping. She's cooking a carrot cake and it's massive the amount of sugar that went in was ridiculous! She just called me outside so I went and she showed me a small wetter.... I was like yeah that's it but nowhere near as big.. Ben came along picked it up and three it at me and I screamed so loud! So, we've been living in Whangarei and we just love it up there but we are having no luck with finding work which is so frustrating. We have drove down to Auckland for a long weekend and we both have interviews on Monday so hopefully we get something soon. We are going to stay with a previous home owner who lives in Mount Albert and she's only 5 minutes from the train station which is perfect. Today we went to a place called Browns Bay which was so cute and has a little beach. They have something up here called TradeMe which is very similar to Ebay. I am trying to sell some of my clothes to make some money so hopefully some stuff gets a bid on. So... After a bit of drama we actually thought we weren't allowed to stay with the lady in Mount Albert so we spent ages trying to look for a place to stay. We came across a house in Grey Lynn which looked really nice and the lady seemed so nice so we thought it felt right we will move straight in when we come down Thursday. The day didn't start great as the bus was an hour late..
