We arrived in Sydney after a 9 hour flight. Thinking we would hopefully sleep on the plane but neither of us could sleep at all. As we only had two days in Sydney we really didn't want to be tired but just couldn't get to sleep. We arrived in Sydney airport, I was terrified as I thought it was going to be so strict. We landed and walked through to Arrivals and we had to do an online examination regarding health. Of course Tom strolls through absolutely fine... When it comes to my turn.. BEEP BEEP BEEP. Sorry Miss could you go to Customer Service. OH BRILLIANT! I then watched Tom as he casually walked through and I had to walk round and round and round to a little desk where a man was sitting I was obviously bright red at this time. On the plane I actually felt a little sick so I thought they were going to take me somewhere haha I got a little check and then went straight through thank goodness! The bag check was then fine and we were through within 10 minutes so it actually wasn't that bad. We didn't stay in a hostel or hotel this time as Sydney accommodation is stupidly expensive so we found a website called airbnb. Which is basically people offering rooms in their own homes for people to stay for a little cheaper. We found a room which wasn't overly expensive and it was with an Indian couple and he seemed very nice, even arranged to meet us at the airport so we didn't get lost. We got our train tickets which cost $150 which was ridiculous for 3 days travel (No pound sign on this keyboard haha) He eventually turned up after we waited an hour at the station for him! When we actually would of been fine using the public transport. It was actually VERY awkward meeting someone and not even knowing what they looked like but it was okay. We got on the train and it took about an hour to get to his. We walked and walked and walked (apparently to him 10 minutes) LIES! We looked at each other and thought oh goodness! We were basically in a council flat which actually scared the hell out of me! We got to the flat and met his wife who again was very nice and welcoming but it was just really awkward. We got showered and went straight out. Baring in mind we had no sleep we stayed out for so long. Travelling on the trains, we first went to a place called Circular Quey which was where we got to see Sydney Harbour Bridge and The Opera House. We then walked to the Botanical Gardens which were just beautiful. We then walked to the Art Gallery and then to Hyde Park which was just as pretty. We then walked to a place called Darling Harbour at this point our energy levels were so low but we managed to see and do a lot. We got the train home and basically went straight to sleep. We woke up early the next morning had some breakfast and then went to Sydney Wildlife Zoo. This was the best ever I got to see so many Koala bears so so so close to me! They were incredible we sat for a good hour just looking at them. They need 20 hours of sleep a day so we were so lucky to get to see them awake and actually move. We then went to the Sealife Sydney Aquarium. We saw some incredible fish and even massive Jelly fish. We saw two Dugong and there are only five in captivity. We then got some lunch and sat in the sunshine on the grass in The Botanical Gardens. We got the bus to Bondi Beach as Tom's always wanted to go there. It was actually a pretty nice beach it was very big and clean. Even offered free Wifi! Tom wanted to get a photo in front of the lifeguard building. After the beach we went back to Circular Quay and saw The Opera House and Bridge at night time. We then walked to a place called The Rocks which had lots of little vintage style shops, restaurants and pubs. After a long day we realised it was pretty late so we got the train home. After getting 3 hours sleep we were up again for our next flight to.... NEW ZEALAND! We were so so so so excited! We got the train to the airport and it was freezing! Thank god I have a coat and fleece!
