Sukhothai Day 1 (18.06.2012): Early start today. All feeling like zombies after 4 sleepless nights in Chiang Mai and cannot wait to leave our hostel. We caught a bus from Chiang Mai to Sukhothai today. The bus was far nicer than I expected: Aircon and comfy seats. It was such a nice journey.. Way more comfortable than our hostel.

We made it to our new accommodation by 15:00, checking into the 'Thai Thai Guesthouse' in Old Sukhothai. It feels like bliss here. We have a garden bungalow, the setting is so tranquil. We are sure going to sleep well tonight. We are getting really low on clean clothes now having only washed them once (it took hours). The laundry service is too expensive here so doing a bit of hand-washing later but really wishing we had clean clothes!

We have already checked out the local food market here and have had a little stroll around. We are going to have a relaxing night on our wooden terraces tonight. The main action will be tomorrow when we hire bikes and cycle around the historical park. Tomorrow we also have to start taking our malaria tablets - wish us luck!
