On the 14th Jan the Lewis/McCluskey clan left for the Drakensberg Mountains after a hearty round of pancakes cooked by Jacqui's Uncle Mally. He makes the best pancakes. Today, 11th Jan was a nice relaxed day. We spent the morning with Aunty Sue and Uncle Mally, close family friends of Jacqui's. Nice cup of tea on the lawn - yet again its a tough life!!! Michael spent some quality time at a friends pool he loved it until his favourite man Euge, dropped him off his inflatable dolphin and he got his face wet! Today 13th Jan saw a nice day of rest for us all. We did some planning forthe rest of the south africa trip looking at where we are going. The Lewis clan are all off to the Drakensberg mountains tomorrow for 5 nights to do lots of walking and general exercise. Euge is now in training - in Howick there is a race called the Midmar Mile every year which he is thinking about entering. Its 1 mile swim across Midmar Dam competing again thousands of people!! Early on the 9th we all flew to Durban and drove up to Howick. For those of you who don’t know this is where Jacqui was brought up until the age of 8. We have been staying at Jacqui’s Uncle Peter and Anica. We celebrated our arrival in Howick as we normally do by having a braai!! We arrived safely in Cape Town on Friday the 29th December. The flight over was not bad for a 11 hour flight !!Our house was lovely, Euge and I had our own ensuite room separate from the main house so we managed not to get woken up too early by a 3 and a half year old Michael Stringer.
