On the 28th we nearly missed our flight from Vegas to LA - whoops!!! There was a huge queue for the taxi!! Anyway we made it to our flight and spent the day getting from Las Vegas to San Fran via LA! We were however met at San Fran by an over excited Michael Stringer who wrestled Neen to the floor as we walked out! So we headed off to our new home for the next 4 days in Castro Valley. The house was great - another bit of luxury.
On the 29th off the clan went to Golden Gate Park - nowhere near the Golden Gate but they had a great playground for Michael Stringer. The rest of us sat in the sun - it was hot which was unusual apparently for the time of year. We then headed out over the bridge to the North side of San Fran and had lunch in Mill Valley a very pretty wooded area. Then Jacqui found her outfit for Euge's sisters wedding in September so she was very happy although the credit card wasn't!!!!!We then headed up to Muir woods where there are tree's that are over 1000 years old. We had a lovely dinner in that night.
On the 30th we caught the train into town and Bev and Jacqui headed to the shops for jeans, Neen went to the Internet and Mark and Michael hit the Aquarium. Then we all met up for our Big Red Fire Engine Tour of San Fran. It was great we went over the bridge in a "shiny" red 1959 Mack fire engine with two very enthusiastic guides. It was good fun - we got to wear the fireman's coats and hats too We had a late lunch at Fisherman's wharf - nice seafood and then the boys headed off exploring and Bev, Jacqui and Michael headed off to Tiffany's for diamond shopping
On the 31st the Stringer family left early to catch their plane to NY and then head home. We had a great time with them and were sad to see them go. Neen and Jacqui headed off to their hotel in town and then went exploring. We walked to the Civic Centre plaze, went in the civic centre which was very impressive, we had a sushi lunch in Yerba Buena Park which is right in the heart of San Fran, then we walked off lunch through China town and headed on up to Coit Tower for the panoramic views of the City. Great day
