It was an early morning but great to wake up to a warm tent. We were kept awake by goats bleating outside our tent all night, but I guess that's just part of the journey. We had a long drive ahead of us today, about 1000 km so we hit the road early after a stop at the Cobar Hot Bake for breakfast…delish! The wildlife started to thin out as we entered more hills and trees in NSW toward the Queensland border. The temperature was creeping up all day long too which was nice to see. After a stop to take a photo of some amazingly tall cacti, Leanne realized that she had put her sunglasses on top of the car. We quickly turned around, and walked the ditches looking for them. I was more worried about snakes than the sunglasses but we found them! It was getting dark so at 6:30 we pulled off the highway at a caravan park in Millmerran. The campground owner showed us to our site by letting Layla drive his golf cart; must have been the highlight of her day! We are very excited to get to Brisbane tomorrow and pick up our camper van…and to visit Starbucks!
