We had about a 7-hour drive ahead of us to get to Mission Beach in Northern Queensland. That would put us about 2 hours South of Cairns, our final destination! On the way we saw the world's largest Mango and Layla ate some bad Chinese food which left her barfing on the side of the road…poor thing; nothing a Golden Gaytime ice cream bar couldn't fix though! We arrived at Mission Beach, dodging the cassowaries at around 3:30 pm. This little town is absolutely beautiful with their palm trees and sandy beach that stretches for miles. We immediately hit the water and the beach for a quick dip before heading back for dinner and bed as we were all very tired. Leanne and I were amazed at the senior couple across from us. They came out of their air-con trailer at dusk and sat ourside and watched tv all night. Strange way to camp! We are looking forward to our snorkelling tour tomorrow out on the Great Barrier Reef for one last time before we have to go back to South Australia.
